A new guide to SOS in Morse code covers sending it by sound, light and tapping, and why it is sent as one signal.

The image translator now shows your picture with every mark it read outlined, so a wrong result shows exactly which dot or dash was missed.

You can paste a screenshot straight into the image translator, and drop a file onto either the image or the audio translator instead of choosing it.

Recording from the microphone in the audio translator now switches off the browser's noise suppression and volume levelling, which were treating a steady Morse tone as noise to remove.

Picking a second file in the audio or image translator while the first is still being read now shows the second one's result, instead of whichever finished last.

Leaving the audio or image translator now turns the microphone or camera off, instead of leaving it recording on a page with no stop button.

Reading a video file in the image translator no longer shows the camera preview and a stop button that did nothing, and starting something else now cancels the video cleanly.

The image translator page now says photo as well as picture, and the tapper page has a clearer description of how the key works.

The image translator now reads a screenshot of Morse typed as dots and dashes. It used to turn every symbol into its own letter, so SOS came back as EEETTTEEE.

Photographs no longer come back as "that file could not be read". Anything above about a third of a megapixel was failing before it was ever looked at.

A border, a caption rule or a second line of code in a picture no longer swallows the line of Morse and reduces the whole thing to a single letter.

The image and audio translators now open with the tool itself, directly under the introduction, instead of below the explanation and the contents list.

There is now a Chrome extension. It puts the translator in your toolbar, converts anything you right-click on any page, and works offline.

The privacy policy now covers the browser extension as well as the site, and spells out that it collects nothing, sends nothing, and reads a page only in the moment you pick one of its right-click items.

Diagrams inside a page were showing the light and the dark version stacked on top of each other instead of the one matching your theme.

What Is Morse Code now shows the timing diagram beside its timing table, so the dot, the dash and the three gap lengths can be seen as well as read.

The alphabet and numbers charts now open with the numbers worth knowing at a glance: how many letters there are, how many symbols each one takes, and how many punctuation marks the chart covers.

Two of the longer sections on the home page now sit on a tinted panel, so a long page reads as sections rather than one column of text.

Every page now opens with a short introduction saying what it covers and where to go instead, followed by its feature image and then the jump links, so the list of sections sits directly above the first one.

The blog index shows a cover for each guide, the changelog marks every entry as added, changed, fixed or removed on a dated timeline, and the About page now carries the author box.

All four guides now open with a key takeaways summary, and the ones with a common pitfall call it out where it matters.

There is now a Chrome extension. It translates in the toolbar without opening the site, converts whatever you have selected on any page from the right-click menu, plays the result as beeps or as a flashing screen, and works with no connection.

Guide posts can now carry a key takeaways summary and short note, tip and warning boxes, so a long explanation has something to break it up. What Is Morse Code uses all three.

The home page now shows how many translations the site has done. Copying a translation adds one, and the number moves as you watch.

Tables inside guide posts render as tables again. The timing table in What Is Morse Code and the speed table in How To Learn Morse Code were showing their raw text instead.

Quotes, separators, code blocks and images inside guide posts now match the rest of the site, and every table on the site shares one look.

The header and footer have a new look. The bar is a rounded panel with a Tapper button whose light keys SOS, the page you are on is marked with a dot and a dash beneath it, the light and dark choices moved into one button, the menu on a phone opens inside the bar with its links grouped, and the footer now opens with a sign-off and ends with the site name written in Morse.

Every page now carries its own cover image above the first section, in a light or dark version to match your theme.

The alphabet page now shows the A to Z chart as a picture as well as a table, so you can save it or read it at a glance.

A band under the translator points to the Chrome extension, so you can convert Morse code on any page without leaving it.

A new All Tools page compares every Morse code tool on the site and says which one to use for typed text, a recording, or a blinking light.

Every page now opens with a list of its sections, so you can jump straight to the part you came for.

Body text is larger, and every answer in a Frequently asked questions section now leads with the answer itself in bold.

The numbers chart said Morse code has 18 punctuation marks. It has 16, and the page now counts them from the chart itself.

The numbers page no longer claims the dollar sign has a code here. It does not, so write the currency as a word.

Share previews for blog posts now use the shorter headline, so the title stays readable at thumbnail size.

The Morse code learning guide is retitled for 2027, with an updated title and heading.

Every page now carries a diagram: the alphabet and number charts, the timing rules the key follows, and what a recording or a flashing light looks like to the decoder.

Share previews are now different for every page and every post, showing what the page does alongside its own Morse code signature.

Blog posts no longer print their own settings at the top of the page, and the posts and the blog index are properly laid out again.
